DJ Home Movies Quickly became an artist I avidly listen to. With their dub/ambient take on jungle and breaks, Thugwidow tugs at the heartstrings ever so lightly, strumming sadness and melancholy amidst a sea of the lightest rain of beats. Favorites are "Spoilt British Liberals The Result Of Stable Society", "Me And The Devil", "Now It Makes Me Think Of Death", and "Pristine Heart." All absolutely stellar tracks.

One of the best new releases of 2017, for listener and DJ. Get it as soon as you can. Favorite track: Now It Makes Me Think Of Death (feat. Sangam).

ｌｅｅ　ｏｎ　ｖｈｓ Its like Burial, if Burial's bass-lines and melancholic vocal samples were dressed with drum & bass percussion instead of dubstep. Favorite track: Dead Colony.

emlyn gear I've heard lots of music in 2017 but this album for me outshines most, not that comparisons should be drawn between one artist and another. You can tell this is from the heart. Genius does what it must, talent only does what it can. This is genius.

Earlier this year, we were introduced to Manchester-based producer, Alex Harris, AKA Thugwidow, after our label affiliate, Sangam, sent us a massive folder of unreleased Thugwidow demos. We immediately approached them to work together on this project and in the months that followed, the album was refined and crafted from the few initial selected demos we chose, including Sangam joining in to contribute on several tracks himself.

Wild emotion, insanity, restlessness and excitement are all present throughout Thugwidow's stellar debut ‘Dead Colony’, morphing together seamlessly and making each listener fully immersed in it’s deliberately deconstructed drum breaks, sinister atmosphere and time-stretched textures.

The sort of music that is beyond time. The sort of music that you feel more than you hear. I love the fact that vaporwave/dreampunk projects like these have such extremely evocative aesthetics they directly fill your mind with sensations you didn't know you had. You'd maybe think it relies on that solely, but it's coupled with gorgeous musicianship + intense production ideas. The volume and spaces it creates just pull you in instantly whatever your initial mood was. Still stunning to this day. SUPRAQUENCER
